I would like to light a candle for my Fiance' Michel Johnston. He was sent out to Afganistan on Valentines day and just reaacently he went to go fight in Iraq. I have yet to hear from him and I am afraid. He proposed to me with his Grandma's wedding ring and he told me to keep it and always remember him no matter what happend to him when he left. The only thing I could give him when he left was my old silver chain and all the love the flowed in my heart. It's been almost 4 weeks sence I gotten a letter from him, and I guess in a way I've already lit a candle that will only be soothed when he's back in my arms. I would like to share with the world the last thing Michel said to me as he got onto that plane... he said "I know you won't like to hear this Rochelle,... but I would gladly give my life to make it safer for everyone to live in,... that's why I joined the Army... and if I were to die I want you to let me go knowing that I will always love you... and also know that if I were to go in battle I would only be doing it for you and our kids... promise me that no matter what happens you'll always love me and remember other men like me. Keep your faith. God bless." He wipped my tear and kissed my forehead. The flame has been lit...
